Introduction
Druids have it all! They can morph into a panther, a cheetah, a bear, a moonkin, a treant, a crow or a seal! They have healing spells, and the ever-popular Moonfire! They have a ton of options, and have recently been granted a free talent respect due to patch changes. Are you ready to get your Druid fired up?
Step One
Blast ‘em! Druids have excellent offensive magical capabilities! As mentioned, Moonfire is a very useful spell, though its effectiveness has been reduced recently. Starfire is also useful, but try not to rely too heavily on these spells. They deal Arcane damage and several monsters are immune to Arcane magic. Use your spells in support of party members, or during solo play.
Step Two
Heal, heal! Druids make superb healers, both with full-life heal spells and Heal over Time (HoT). Healing spells are amplified if you take the talents necessary to obtain your Treant form. Be careful not to heal too much though; you'll bring the monsters to you if you heal too much too fast!
Step Three
Tank! Feral druids make the best tanks, second only perhaps to protection-specced Warriors. They have monstrous amounts of armor in Bear form and have several moves to cut the enemy down in a hurry! Feral specialization also greatly increases all your other animal aspect benefits.
Step Four
Bring your posse to the fight! Balance Druids have the advantage of being able to boost spells and to call on a trio of Treants to fight for them! They hit fairly hard, soak a lot of damage before they buy it, plus they look hilarious when their time is up! Never leave home without your posse!
Step Five
Learn to manage your mana! For a Druid, mana is essential, as is keeping it during a fight. Your healing spells are very expensive compared to Priests or Paladins, so learn to heal efficiently. Any gear you can find with + healing effects is right for you!
Step Six
Stock up on Maple Seeds once you hit level 20. Your Rebirth spell allows you to resurrect fallen comrades, DURING battle, no less! Battle rezzes are extremely important, especially during raids and instances! Learn to use them wisely!
Step Seven
Keep the enemy stationary! Druids have at their disposal, two spells: entangling roots and hibernate, both of which can be used to keep an enemy from charging. Be aware that any damage dealt to a hibernate-affected enemy will wake them up.
Step Eight
Clean up! Druids have the advantage of being able to cure Poison and Curse effects from themselves and friendly units! The only thing they cannot cure is Disease, so make friends with a Priest or Paladin!
