You and your seller should have a great transaction if you see things from each other's point of view. As a buyer, that means you can improve your life and your seller's life by doing these simple things:
1. Respond promptly to invoices and indicate which method of payment you will be using and when seller can expect payment. If the seller has an expected payment timeline - 3 days, a week, whatever, please follow it.
2. Pay in a timely manner, ideally within 24--48 hours of auction close.
3. Please don't bid without being committed to payment if you win. Don't bid half-heartedly. Window shopping and browsing is fine but please don't bid unless you are willing to pay for the item.
4. Spare yourself grief by checking seller feedback. Yes, this makes YOU a great buyer because you up your chances of a good transaction if you deal with sellers with excellent track records.
5. Be aware of normal shipping times. They can vary anywhere from 3-14 days for media mail and postal and other delivery systems have expected tracking times on their sites, as does Ebay. If you have any questions, ask your seller how quickly they put an item in the mail after payment and when you should expect it.
6. Please don't leave feedback in haste. If you have NOT received an item, talk to your seller first. See if there is a tracking record and what information the seller has. If you don't feel like you are getting a satisfactory answer, you still have a chance to leave that negative feedback. But give a seller with excellent feedback the benefit of the doublt before leaving hasty feedback. Mistakes can and do happen and reputable sellers will do everything they can to make it right.
7. Once you have an item, leave feedback promptly. IF your item arrives damaged or has defects the seller missed, contact the seller. Again, a reputable seller will put customer satisfaction first.
These tips should make your life easier. Have fun Ebaying!
