How to Add an Image to your Ebay Blog
In order for the image to be visible to everyone, you will have to get the image that you want off of your computer and onto the internet. I know that it sounds hard, but it is actually easy to do! Follow these steps to upload your image to the internet and get the image source link.
1. First you need to find a place to put your image on the world wide web. A long approach is to find hosting and upload your image via an FTP program...but like I just said, that's the long way around things. We want it easy right? Start by doing a search for free image hosting ( http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=free+image+hosting )...yep, you don't need to pay for this. The first result I see is a site that's called ImageShack ( http://imageshack.us ) . There are many other free image hosting service providers out there but for the sake of this guide, I will use ImageShack.
2. Follow the easy steps that ImageShack has written on their page.
" To upload an image, click "Browse...", select an image, click OK/Open, and then click "host it!". After a short while, your image will upload. Depending on your use for the image, use any of the provided linking codes. "
What you will have to do is click the Browse button and a small window will appear. In that small window will be the contents of your computer. Use this window like you would Windows Explorer and navigate to the folder or place where you store your images. * To make it easier finding your image, right click in a blank white space in that small window and choose View>Thumbnails. This will make small images appear and you should be able to locate your image easier other than looking for the file name.
3. Once you have located the image that you would like to upload to the internet, click on the image or file name once and then click the Open button. After clicking the Open button, it will put the exact location to that image from your computer in the little box. It may something like this: C:\Documents and Settings\owner\My Documents\ebayimage.jpg. There are other options that ImageShack provides such as resizing, etc...I personally skip over those options. Once you are ready, click the host it! button. As soon as you click the button, it will change to a message saying "uploading..."
4. ImageShack will now do its magic and upload your image to the internet. Times may vary depending on the size of the image you've uploaded. In this step, ImageShack is actually pulling the image off of your computer and then storing it on their site. Don't worry, you will still have your original copy left on your computer. After the image is uploaded, you will then be taken to a different page stating all of your options on how to include it in your website or blog.
5. To add the image to your Ebay Blog, copy the Hotlink for Websites line (near the bottom of the page). To copy, highlight the entire line of HTML code, right click and then click copy. Here is what my code looks like: <a href="http://imageshack.us"><img src="http://img362.imageshack.us/img362/7262/ebayimage.jpg" border="0" alt="Image Hosted by ImageShack.us" /></a>. This line is actually the exact code that you will put into your blog. The HTML coding will tell your blog to display the image that you just uploaded.
In your Ebay Blog, click view source. By clicking view source, it will show the HTML of your blog. Now, time to add your image...simply right click in the white space and select paste. I am a FireFox user so this option doesn't come up for me. If you have trouble pasting the image code in your blog, try pressing Ctrl and V on your keyboard...this is a keyboard shortcut for pasting.
6. Ok, so the code is in there...time to check your work and see what it looks like. Click view source once more to change back to regular view. If you did everything correctly, your image should now be in your blog so that the whole wide world can see!
I hope this helps anyone and everyone out there that has had trouble with adding an image to your blog.
