When you receive an eBay/Paypal eCheck payment from a potential buyer, you will receive a notice as such:
"This email confirms that you have received a Pending eCheck Instant Purchase Payment for $XX.XX USD from buyer (name@) address.com)
"This eCheck Payment will remain "Uncleared" until the funds have cleared from the sender's account, which usually takes 4 business days. If you are shipping an item, please do not ship your item until the funds have cleared into your PayPal account. You will be notified by email when the funds have cleared into your PayPal balance."
BUYERS: You may not have even realized this is the choice you selected. If your payment came from on on-line checking account, (without prior authorization from you, it's still considering a "checking account"-- payment may take from 4-6 business days to clear. Please consider this when purchasing item(s) on eBay. Your seller must wait for your eCheck to clear before shipping. Do not fault the seller or shipper of item(s) paid for in this fashion As they have not actually been paid for your purchase at this point. Within 4-6 days, your eCheck should have cleared. At this stage, you *should* have received an email from your buyer on a potential ship date (minimim 48 hours after your eCheck has has cleared). If not, you should inquire as to a ship date from your seller.
SELLERS: Do NOT send the item until the eCheck has cleared. Ship within 48 hours of cleared payment. Use delivery confirmation. (it's only .18 cents when you have a free USPS account. DO send an email to the potential buyer letting them know it may take 4-6 business days for the eCheck to clear, as soon as you have an eCheck on a potential purchase. It's important for you to communicate. This buyer may not know how eChecks work. Educate them, and gain future good will. You will receive a cleared payment notification to your account in 4-6 business days . There is no need to delay completed information to a buyer once transaction has been completed. Send the item as soon as PayPal has cleared the check to your account.
