Don't be Scammed Again!

I am a seller.  I am also a buyer.  I have dealt with Ebay for quite sometime and know there are a lot of leeks in the system.  I have been scammed a few times.  I do not want others to go through the same thing.  I'm going to offer you the chance to read what you can do to fortify your protection as a buyer.  Here's the deal, a buyer will still shop on Ebay, even if they lose $100 US dollars or higher.  We all want to find a good deal.  How unfortunate it is to have to lose a couple of bucks in the process.  It does not have to be this way.  Here are some simple steps, take them and you'll never have a blindfold pulled over you again.  The information is not much, however it is important and worth your time to read if you do not want to lose your money over some stupid stipulations.

Your item did not arrive:

  1. Your package should arrive within 1-10 business days.  If this did not happen, here is what you need to do about that.
  2. Contact the seller and give she or he 48-hours to respond.  You have to allow the seller a chance to respond, or Paypal can come after you if they find out you did not try to contact the seller and lied about saying you did.
  3. If the seller does not respond back to you within 48 hours, you must, I repeat, you must immediately file a Paypal dispute.  I always recommend you use Paypal as a payment process.
  4. Paypal disputes only have a limited time frame of about 30 days.  Be sure to always check your emails.
  5. Once you file the dispute, Paypal will take it from there so long as you are receptive and willing to work with them.  I have learned, this makes the process faster if you give Paypal a couple of calls.  If the item of original purchase is $10 or below, I would not even bother calling them since that is not that much money.

I have already returned the package and the seller won't give me my money back:

  1. I have learned a scam that only some sellers know.
  2. Some sellers like to sell pop items.
  3. Buyers often do not know how to use Paypal very well.  If the seller appears to be difficult you must beware if their feedback shows negatives dropping the seller's feedback to 97% or lower.
  4. Here's the scam and it goes like this.  BUYER DOES NOT LIKE THEIR ITEM, BUYER EMAILS THE SELLER SAYING THIS, SELLER RESPONDS BY TELLING THE BUYER TO RETURN THE ITEM, BUYER SHIPS THE ITEM AND FORGETS TO RECORD TRACKING INFORMATION, SELLERS CLAIMS TO NEVER RECEIVE THE RETURNED ITEM, BUYER GETS ANGRY AND FILES THROUGH PAYPAL, BUYER LOSES CASE DUE TO STALLED TIME AND NOT ENOUGH INFORMATION SUCH AS TRACKING INFORMATION......Here's a little tip on this one - sometimes sellers will try to stall you past 45-days which is the deadline time to file any type of dispute if you want your money back....see the scam with that?  The secondary scam is that the seller hopes you forget your tracking information and you try to file a dispute through Paypal.  Paypal requests the return shipping information in every case.  If you do not have it, you do not have your money back. It's as simple as that.

I have received an empty box:

  1. File a dispute with Paypal immediately or Ebay if you paid with a money order.  Do not ever use MoneyGram, Western Union, Cash or Personal Checks since Ebay cannot protect you on that one.
  2. Supply Paypal or Ebay with the exact weight of the shipped package.
  3. Tell Paypal or Ebay what you estimate the actual package should weigh, if you do not know, you can look up the weight of the product throughout websites on the Internet.
  4. You can also go to your local police precinct and file a criminal case against the seller and the investigator should be able to handle the issue from then foward.

I paid with a credit card and I went over Paypal's 45-day deadline.

  1. Credit cards are always nice, in my books they are better than cash.  If somone steals cash from you, it's gone.  But, if somone steals your credit card's money, there are other ways.
  2. File a dispute with your credit card company.  They usually know you better than Paypal does and usually it will go in your favor so long as you supply them with enough ample information.

Seller left me negative feedback out of pure spiteful nature.

  1. That is never good
  2. You can either file a mutual feedback withdrawl form with the seller, contact Ebay if there is personal information on the feedback, get a court order for removal, or use squaretrade (Dispute specialist service)

Special Offer on Ebay auction:

  1. If you have ever looked for an item that is $1,000 or over in value, there is probably a scam for it.  Here's one new buyers fall for.
  2. An example: Buyer is looking for a navigation system in their car, it retails for $2,500.  Buyer sees it on Ebay for about $1,500.  Buyer is scouting for the best price because that's what we do.  Suddenly the buyer sees and auction page, the auction page states, (EMAIL US, WE HAVE   'eX'#'s OF these items' for sale.  Email us on how to get this.  This is a scam, wanna know how?
  3. These types of people want you to send them money through Paypal, something like $500 bucks or so.  The trick is if they can get a buyer to be duped into giving them money, they can just keep the money.  The seller can keep the money because now the transaction is outside of Ebay.  It's basically like giving Joe Bob or Joe Smoe $500 bucks for something and they just take off running.  You can't do anything about it.....WRONG....you can, don't fall for something like this because now you should know that you should never do transaction outside of Ebay!!  It's as simple as that!

Hi, I'm Universalbargain3317, thanks for stopping by my corner of Ebay!
