The other day, I received an email from one of our eBay members with some interesting questions regarding Terapeak.
I’ve decided to email the questions and the answers to you because they were really good questions and there’s been a few changes to Terapeak in the past few months.
If you haven’t already joined up to Terapeak, click on the below link so you can start finding hot markets:
The first question was “I think I’ve found a niche market..... But when I looked at the product on Terapeak 2 weeks ago, it was really hot and now I’m looking at the same product again and it’s not under the 30 day search results anymore. It only comes up under the 60 day search results. Does this mean it’s not a hot niche to research?”
It’s a really good question, because we suggest giving the market what it wants, but basically the longer (days) the search results on Terapeak, the better it is because you want to get the most results as possible. 60 and 90 days search results are only new on Terapeak and definitely worth checking out, as you get the maximum amount of information.
If the product isn’t still selling on eBay, it could be that the product is so hot it’s sold out, or that it might even be a seasonal product or trend that’s not so popular anymore.
The best thing to keep in mind is that Terapeak is a guide only and you still need to do your research through eBay and Completed Listings and make your own mind up from there.
I would suggest keeping researching this product, if not to re-sell it, but for the great learning experience you’ll get from researching it.
The next question was “Is it best to have more or less competition with the amount of sellers when researching on Terapeak?”
This is another great question because the more competition you have, the harder it’s going to be to compete with them. It would be fantastic if you could find a hot niche market that has no competition, but then you could also ask yourself the question, why isn’t someone already selling in this niche?
If it’s not a product that’s already in high demand, you may have to educate the market, which you preferably don’t want to do and it might be better to find another product to look at selling.
The last question was “Is there a minimum or maximum amount of Total Listings that we should be looking out for on Terapeak?”
The best combination on Terapeak would be the lowest amount of listings verse the highest sell through rate and highest amount of bids per listing.
There’s no wrong or right answer, with total amount of listings, it all comes down to making sure there’s enough demand for the product and enough profit margin on the item you’re selling.
There’s also a new area in Terapeak that you have to check out, especially if you’re running out of ideas on different products to research on Terapeak.
It’s called the ‘Item Browse’ category and can be found in the first drop down box when you log into Terapeak, that’s called Search Report.
It has over 30 categories listed that you can browse though to see what’s in demand in that category and you can still really niche down into sub categories and specific products until you find something hot!
Even though products with the red circle are high in demand, don’t underestimate the lower colours as well! In these colours you may find an untapped market with less competition and higher demand.
Another area to check out on Terapeak, is the ‘Title Builder’ that is found in the same drop down box.
You can research what other keywords sellers are using for their similar items and come up with an unbelievable title that will attract more buyers.
Each time you click on a keyword from the list to add it to your title, Terapeak will show you a new set of popular keywords to choose from.
Just remember…… Your title still has to make sense to the buyer and you shouldn’t have the entire title made up of keywords only.
These new tools make Terapeak easier to use and great for you if you get stuck on new ideas for products to sell.
Research should be fun to do, and once you find a hot item, it’s like winning the lotto and your business can be set for life!
Till next time, have fun with your eBay business.
