I started my business officially in 2004, but it really began when I purchased my first season tickets to the Philadelphia Phillies years before. As big of a fan as I am, I wasn't able to go to all 81 games. I first gave extra games to friends and family, but then decided it would be nice to make some of that money back I had paid for the season tickets. Later, I started selling some of the more attractive games (Mets, interleague, fireworks, Opening Day, Fan Appreciation) at a profit. Then, I dipped my toe into other teams in the city like the Flyers and Eagles. I took the big plunge and started buying season tickets for teams in cities across the country. Despite a few purchases that didn't pan out, I found I was able to make a lot of money, and eventually was able to leave my full time job and do the ticket selling full-time. Now, I'm a very successful ticket broker and am able to work at home to be with my wife and kids all day. I have found that the keys to success to starting my business were to have some extra capital saved up so I could purchase the season tickets, and to not be discouraged about buying PSLs (Premium Seat Licenses) because most people don't like the high price tag, but if you're intending to be in it for the long haul, you will profit considerably with the right PSLs. So that's it! Not bad for someone who didn't know what they wanted to do with their life after college!
