I am often asked how the arrows in my auctions have been measured. The archery industry standard (adopted by the Archery Manufacturers Organization, now the Archery Trade Association) way of measuring arrow length is from the groove of the nock to the end of the shaft. This is the length I, and most other dealers use in our auctions. Other ways of measuring the arrow such as the shaft only, or from the tip of the nock to shaft end can make up to a half inch difference in given length. If that half inch is important to your set-up ask the seller before bidding, it may save you an expensive mistake.
