Did YOU know there are people selling FAKE Oilily? It is very sad but it is true. It is not just the clothing it is the socks & everything too!
Here are some tips to help prevent you the buyer from getting ripped off by someone selling fake stuff.
#1, Know your product, look at the actual catalog, look at the reputable sellers and know what you are looking for before you bid & buy.
#2Oilily World dot com is a great site to get familar with products to help you know what actual real products look like
#3 The Fake Products I have been told began in 2004
#4 IF you are looking at something you want to buy request the buyer submit a photo of the seams-a Oilily seam will be perfect however many copy fakes will be off centered or look cheap.
#5 Tags by the Fake Oilily make it very hard to tell that is why you must have an actual catalog to see what the tags for that actual year really looked like so you know if it is a real authentic Oilily.
#6 Oilily "does not sell factory direct" so keep this in mind if you see something listed factory direct.
#7 Keep in mind if you want to buy a Oilily request that the seller send you a photo of the actual hang tag and the actual inside tag. You must see the tag to know if it is authentic. Keep in mind that the fakes font & designs will differ year to year just as Oilily tags differ. So compare the actual photo by looking at a past issue or present issue catalog to really know what color tag was created that year that season -when with what font to know what this authentic one looked like vs. what is a fake.
#8 When it comes to buying a product that has a "zipper" ask the seller for a close up photo or if there is a photo look at the zipper closely. A True Oilily will hide the zipper or the zipper will be discret, many of the FAKES will not be hidden an it will be noticable.
#9 Look at the Patterns very close, many fakes are very good. Many are so good that you need a catalog or someone who really knows the Oilily clothing to help determine if it is true authentic or fake. If you compare a catalog to the sellers item listed photo look at every pattern in the pic very close. A fast look it not enough.
#10 Remember if it appears to be too good of a deal it probably is. Oilily True Authentic Oilily is not cheap.
#11 The Sizing for True Oilily is European-remember a FAKE can an many times will be off. A True Oilily will have the real European size. European Sizing adds every 6 to the number. A Fake size could be like a number 91 or some crazy number- which is not even a size that Oilily has. To better help you below is a Guide to European Sizing converted from Euro sizing to American sizing.
EUROPEAN SIZING for all European Clothing. This is a Guide on All Euro Brands. This shows how Euro clothing sizes are listed an converted to our American sizing. Hope this helps.

Some last minute tips, if a seller refuses to send you more photos of the hang tag or interior tag, seams etc..to help you determine it is not fake-be concerned. If you don't have a photo of the listed item be concerned. If the price is too good to be true, it probably is. Keep in Mind that Oilily is not made in China. That many of the fakes are! Keep in mind that if you are a buyer look at the sellers reputation, if it is good, if they offer allot of Oilily photos of the seams, hangtags, interior tags an a description about it then ask them more questions like where they bought it the line name etc...then cross reference with a catalog or someone that knows the lines to be certain it is authentic.
This guide is not affiliated with Oilily in any way. This is just a guide to help people know that not everyone that offers this clothing sells the true authentic clothing. I am just trying to be a good semaritan an be helpful.
Hope this helps
