I liked this title, but this guide is actually about making a simple Papier Mache Doll Head for your Life-Size Doll. (Please read my other review for instructions on how to make the doll).
DIRECTIONS:
Inflate a balloon and tie it.
Tape a cardboard ring around the bottom for a neck! Use masking or heavy tape. You can also make cardboard ears if you wish, and tape them on as well.
Cut or tear LOTS of strips of newspaper.
Make a paste using only flour and water, thin consistency.
Dip the strips, one at a time, into the paste and layer all over and around the balloon, cardboard neck and ears. Use many layers!
Set it aside and let it dry thourally.
Make a hole in the bottom of balloon head to place a wooden dowel or a long stick in there. You will be putting this in the shirt of the doll you previously made.
Paint the head and add facial features.
Don't forget to add a wig unless you want bald, and maybe add a hat!
Why not make 2 heads? The doll can hold one of them! I did this a couple of times. I started out with a male and female Scarecrow then on Halloween day, I removed the Male's body and had the Female holding his head. I reversed this the following year.
Hope you enjoyed this simple little guide on "how to get a head in life"! Lol!
