This guide was created by SNAZZY PRINTS to help our customers with the installation and customization of their custom designed auction templates. If you have any questions or suggestions on how we can make this guide more helpful and easy to use then please let us know!!!

PART ONE - AN OVERVIEW OF YOUR NEW TEMPLATE

After purchasing one of our templates you'll get an e-mail from us that contains two things. One of them is a short set of instructions with links to all the different guides we've written to help you put your new template to use. The other and most important part is your template of course. Your template can be found attached to the e-mail we sent you in the form of a .TXT file.

To begin customizing your new template you will need to open the .TXT file that we sent using NOTEPAD which nearly every computer should have. YIKES!! That sure is a lot of code!! Don't worry… it's a lot easier to edit than you think.

PART TWO - ADDING YOUR OWN TEXT TO YOUR TEMPLATE

The first thing you will want to edit on your new template is your payment information, shipping information, store policy, and links. These are the things that you will want to look the same on every listing that you have. After you've made these changes you will want to save a copy of your edited template code somewhere on your computer so that each time you create a new listing you can go in and only change things like your item description and item photos instead of having to input all of your store policy details again each time.

So how do you make these changes? It's easy...

Your template code is broken up into SEVERAL pieces. The only reason we do this is to make it easier to read and find what you're looking for. Above each "chunk" of code you will see a set of arrows with text inside that look like this…

<!-- DO NOT EDIT SCRIPT BELOW -->

The text inside these sets of arrows will guide you through the template editing process. If you see a "chunk" of code that says <!-- DO NOT EDIT SCRIPT BELOW --> above it then you know to leave that part of your template code alone!

However, if you see a "chunk" of code that says <!-- ENTER YOUR AUCTION TITLE BELOW --> then you know that is part of your template code that you can go in and edit without hurting anything. (But don't worry about editing this part just yet)

Remember that your template code is in the SAME ORDER as it appears so if you scroll down to the very bottom you'll find the sections where you can edit things like your payment policy and shipping policy. It is best to start from the top though and work your way down reading all the arrow sets to make sure you don't miss anything that needs to be changed.

After you've made all the text changes to your payment policy, shipping policy, store policy, and you've changed all the links that require you to fill in your EBAY ID and/or STORE ID then you need to save a copy of your template in a safe place on your computer. Now each time that you're ready to list a new product on EBAY all you have to do is open your template which has already been edited and add the information and photos for the product that you're listing.

PART THREE - ADDING YOUR OWN PICTURES AND DESCRIPTION TO YOUR TEMPLATE

So now you're ready to use your template for the first time. Open up the saved copy of your template that has all of your store information already edited and filled in from STEP 2. The first thing you will need to do is find a free photo hosting service. There are tons to use, but I recommend Photobucket. You will need to sign up for a free account with Photobucket before you can upload any photos.

Once you've created your free Photobucket account log in. To upload pictures just hit the "browse" button and select the picture that you want to upload. You can upload one picture at a time or several pictures at a time. Once your picture(s) have been uploaded it's time to put them in your template. Find the picture you want to insert into your template on your Photobucket page. Below it you should see 4 different picture codes. You want to use the one that says "HTML CODE". (VERY IMPORTANT!!!)

Now open up your template and look for the arrow set that says <!-- ENTER YOUR PHOTO/IMAGE CODES BELOW -->.

You'll probably also see some text that says "Replace this text with photo # 1" below it. Go ahead and do just that. Replace that line of text with the HTML CODE that you got from photobucket.

Repeat the steps above to add more pictures to your listing. You can add ANY amount of pictures you'd like.

IMPORTANT: Each time you insert a PHOTOBUCKET HTML CODE into your template type <br><br> after it before you insert another picture code in after it.

EXAMPLE:

<photobucket html code # 1 goes here>

<br><br>

<photobucket html code # 2 goes here>

<br><br>

<photobucket html code # 3 goes here>

*If you would like to insert a customized AUCTIVA SCROLLING GALLERY into your template then please read our other guide for instructions on how to do this!*

PART FOUR - TEMPLATE INSTALLATION

Time to use your template! Here's how.

1. Log in to your EBAY account and click on SELL AN ITEM.

2. Type in 3-5 words about your product and choose LIST WITH ALL OPTIONS. THEN HIT THE BLUE START STELLING!

3. Choose a category for your product then hit CONTINUE.

4. This will bring you to the CREATE YOUR LISTING page. Everything on this page is pretty much self explanatory like choosing a title for your listing and a starting bid amount. Go ahead and scroll down to the *DESCRIBE WHAT YOU'RE SELLING section. You'll see a very big box where you would normally type out your listing description. At the top of that box there are two tabs. One says standard and the other says HTML. You're going to hit the HTML tab. If you correctly selected the HTML tab it should now be white instead of light gray.

*Now that you're in HTML mode you can COPY and PASTE your ENTIRE template code into this box.*

Open up your template code in NOTEPAD and hold down the <control> button and the <A> button to select your entire code. Then hold down the <control> button and the <C> button to copy all of your script. Now go back to the description box.

Click inside the description box anywhere. Hold down the <control> button and the <V> button to paste your script into the box.

After you've pasted your template code into this section hit the STANDARD tab to get out of HTML mode.

*WAIT A FEW SECONDS... YOUR TEMPLATE SHOULD NOW BE LOADING IN STANDARD MODE AND YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO SEE YOUR DESIGN AND GRAPHICS*

Now you can easily change the title of your auction and description in STANDARD MODE. Everything else (store policy, links, and photos) is already done!! After your auction page looks exactly how you want it you can continue filling out the rest of the information on the CREATE YOUR LISTING page as you normally would. YOU'RE ALL DONE!  CONGRATULATIONS!
