Quick & Easy............
Always use a plastic container. The beads are glass and you do not want glass on glass. I use hot water & add Dawn liquid soap detergent. Let beads soak in hot soapy water & have an old soft tooth brush handy. Place a dish towel next to sink & fold in half. Take beads out one at a time after a nice soak and rub with old soft tooth brush until clean. This will not damage your beads at all. DO NOT do this w/ beads that have gold or silver foil on the outside of the bead. Rinse beads off with hot water & then set them on soft towel to dry. If you wish to do an entire strand on raffia grass I would not recommend soaking the raffia grass in water. Take strand apart & restring when finished. Raffia grass can rot after a while & you may have a bead strand fall off of your display wall. If you have very old beads that are "dried out" you can make them look very nice by adding a tiny bit of any oil. The beads I sell do not get cleaned nor do I add any oil. This is left up to you. See sample picture below of old brick red green hearts & cobalt blue donuts, (German annulars) that I call "Dried out". This dried out look can come from being buried in the ground for a while.
HAPPY BEAD HUNTING !
