If you know anything about Lilly Pulitzer, you are aware that it is one of the brands which is targeted by counterfeiters, because of its popularity in the United States. Unfortunately, these counterfeit items sometimes appear on eBay.
What can you do to avoid being taken advantage of?
- First, make sure you carefully read the item description. Look at the pictures and read the ad looking for the hallmarks of the Lilly brand. These include signature prints, Lilly hem lace, Lilly buttons and satin bra straps. Please see my other guide for more details.
- Check the seller's location. Most counterfeit items are imported.
- Check the seller's feedback. If the feedback is private, beware. They may be trying to hide something. Also a low rating should be approached with caution.
- Be suspicious if the eBay account is new. Scammers often get in and then quickly get out. They do not build up a reputation.
- Check the seller's other items for sale. Do they have a large quantity of Lilly at ridiculously low prices? Use common sense. If it looks too good to be true it probably is.
- Use the "Ask Seller A Question" feature. A legitimate seller will answer your email questions.
- Use PayPal. This protects you as a buyer.
As long as you are careful, you should not have problems and you will get that beautiful Lilly dress. Thank you for reading my guide. If you have found it helpful please vote yes below. Be sure to read my other Lilly Pulitzer guides.
