Regardless if you have been eBaying for a while or just started recently, hopefully the following guide will help you from being SCAMMED!
We have been eBaying for a while and this email is one of the worst in my opinion. Anybody on eBay who has ever been involved in a dispute dreads receiving a PayPal dispute notification. That’s why this email is so dangerous, the subject line will read something like this:
“New
Dispute Opened Against membername”
And if you’ve ever been involved in
a dispute; we can tell you it's not fun! Scammer knows this scare tactic and they feed on your fear.
Any time
you receive an email of this nature make sure you CALM DOWN!
If you try to respond to these email right away then the scammer already got you. Here are the following sure steps ways to ensure that this email is legit.
If you receive an email stating that a dispute is open follow these steps:
1. Close your email program
2. Open a new browser window
3. Sign into your eBay account through eBay.com or log into your PayPal account
4. Check your messages in your eBay account
5. IF there is an email alert in your account then dispute is real otherwise IGNORE the so-called dispute email.
I will give you an example of the type of email you will get from scammers:
eBay sent this message on behalf of an eBay member via My
