Two years ago my sister Maureen called me and asked, "Do you want to sell on eBay?"  I said, "no".  A week later Maureen called and said, "Do you want to buy stuff to sell on eBay?"  I said, "No that is the dumbest thing I have ever heard.  Wonder if it does not sell and I am stuck with it and loose money?"

A week later she called and said, "Valerie Comp USA has an Intel Wireless Mouse set that has a rebate more than the sales price.  Do you want to buy some to sell on eBay?"  I said, "Yes".

I was hooked!  But the biggest problem is finding things to sell and be able to make money.

There is a lot of information on selling on eBay.  The problem is it is full of hype.  For example someone says they make $10,000 a month.  They fail to mention if that is profit or total sales, see!  Total sales could be $10,000 and profit more like $1,000 or $2,000.

I have been selling on eBay for over 5 years now.  Many deals I find right on the internet that I can turn around and sell on eBay.  Here is how I find items to sell.

1.  I used message boards that talk about deals.  You can find these by searching for them on google.  Sometimes I had to wait for the rebate for the profit but it worked beautifully.

2.  I wanted to sell more so I started with overstock etc.  Do a search for salvage, surplus or liquidation on google.  Just start looking for companies.  Then look at their website and check each product to see if you can make a profit with it.

3.  Middle wholesalers.  This is where I am now.  If someone tells you that you can buy from a real wholesaler it might not be true.  For example, I was selling Finishing Touch, a shaver advertised on TV.  I was getting it from a middle wholesaler.  But people were selling it lower than me.  I went directly to the company to see if I could get it from them.  They said they would only sell to large companies like Wal-mart and would not even talk to me.

You find middle wholesalers right on the internet searching wholesale (and then the item you are looking for).  This is quite time consuming.  But remember once you find one item you might be able to sell one everyday.  Then you can find more items and add to your inventory.

The key is to sell one item, then two etc.  Make goals to sell one additional item each week.  Before you know it you will be going strong.

Good Luck!
