I have been selling authentic Dooney & Bourke bags for the past 4 and a half years and have come across many fake D&B bags being passed as authentic. I've noticed that the IT and the Hearts bags are the most commonly faked styles. Here are some clear identifiers for detecting fake Dooneys from real ones.

IT, Hearts, Stars, Tapestry, Doodle Bags & Accessories

• Are made primarily of a pvc-coated cotton and are trimmed with leather
• Have a small beige cloth tag attached inside that has a red stitched border and Dooney & Bourke INC in blue lettering on the front and a serial number printed on the back, most accessories do not have this tag except for the Flap Wristlets-- fake purses are missing this tag
• Have rainbow or multi-colored outside zippers--not silver or plastic
• Have a pink brass signature heart fob or zipper pull hanging from or attached to a leather strap-- never on a chain
• Most styles have a sky blue cotton lining inside with the exception of Tassel and Alto-Trimmed Totes and Flap Wristlets which do not have a lining
• Have a Dooney & Bourke leather patch sewn inside or the name engraved in leather inside (not in any accessories)
• Many of these styles have an additional "made in China" or "made in Mexico" tag
