Motorola is known worldwide as having quality products and is the brand that began the cellular age.  However, this means that counterfeiters in China have taken advantage of this and made some pretty convincing fakes.  In fact, most dont know until calls start dropping off, batteries begin to fail, and you realize you're not getting the full distance from the headset you were promised.  Many ebayers may be selling the H700, but many may not even know they are selling counterfeit products.  Heres how you the consumer can check to make sure the product you recieve is the one you purchased.

1) Feel the headset: The earpiece on the genuine product should be similar to the soft feel the of the earloop. It should no feel like the hard plastic of the rest fo the body of headset.

2) Look at the product symbol: The symbol should no simply come off or rub off like a sticker.  In addition, it will not be skewed or be crooked.  Rather it will line up perfectly with the call answer button below it.

3) Touch the Volume Buttons:  The volume buttons on the genuine product will have a slightly rough feel to them, that allows for a slight grip that prevents slipping, and ques the user that they are touching the volume button.  They should not be perfectly smooth.

4) Look for stickers: Simply put, their shouldn t be any: Motorola does not place shiny stickers on any of its products at anytime.  The symbol should be on the inside of the earpiece, underneath the ear loop, which can be seen when swung open.  It should have both the serial number and the blue symbol etched in.

Many H700 Retail in the $30-$60 depending on condition, price, and source.  In addition, most are either sold as BIN's or store listings.  If the item is being sold as an open box return, be sure a seller warranty or guarantee is available first, as this will assure you the item has been either tested or refurbished properly.
