To post a picture on your Me page, a discussion or chat board, or in a listings, you will need to host it somewhere on the web, no one else will have access to these pictures online except you. If you don't already have an image host, check out some of the online places that host your pictures for free, such as Photobucket.com, Inkfrog.com, or Imageshack.

After you have registered and set up your photo album on one of these sites, you willl use their upload service to get your pictures from your computer to the picture hosting web site you are using. I use Photobucket myself so will use that as an example here, but as you will find out there are quite a few different sites available to you for free.

After you have a web host, you can add the picture to your Me page, the discussion or where ever you want to place it.

When using Photobucket, after you have uploaded the pictures you want to use, under the picture will be 3 different tags. Url, Tag, Img. All of these tags can be clicked on and copied. Right click on the one labeled “Tag” go up to the edit button on your computer task bar and click on it for the drop down box. Click on “copy“. Go to the page you want to add the picture to and put the curser where you want to add the picture and go back up to your task bar and click on edit again for the drop down box and click on “paste“. This will put all of the information in that tag line on your Me page or your listings.

This what that long line is going to look like when you paste it:

< a href="http://photobucket.com" target="_blank"><img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v634/YOUR ALBUM NAME HERE/100_7148.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting" ></a>

I have removed the name of my album and placed in this HTML code “YOUR ALBUM NAME HERE” for the example.

Centering tip for your Me page:

If you would like to center your picture and you don’t know HTML, after you have finished your Me page, go back to edit it, only this time use the HTML format that you can select before continuing. This will bring you to a page that has your Me page written out in a code that looks like an alien language.

At the top you will see this:

< !-- **** Start of HTML from the template **** -- >

This is the beginning of your Me page. Find your picture “tag” in the page by looking for - <IMG alt="Image hosted by Photobucket.com". Remember this is the beginning of your picture tag. In front of this add this code - < P align=center >, but take out the spaces between < & P and between the r & >.

This will place your picture in the center of your Me page.

Once you have this all figured out you can add pictures to your listings. After writing out your description and TOS on the “Describe your item page”, click on the “Enter your own HTML” tag, then put the tag you have learned to use in the auction where you want it to appear. Don’t forget to center it though.

You are on your way to putting pictures everywhere you want. After the first couple you will be a pro too.

Thank you for reading my guide. If you have found this helpful please vote yes below.
