Hose Upgrade - Hoover SteamVac Dual V / V2 Carpet Shampooers / Steamers
Effective November 15, 2005 Hoover has upgraded the accessory hose for all Dual V / V2 carpet shampooers. This change affects not only the hose but also the nozzle of these machines.
Typical Models: F7205-900, F7220-900, F7225-900, F7226-900, F7425-900, F7431-900, F7440-900. All SteamVac Dual V / V2 and all SteamVac Dual V / V2 Widepath machines. F7xxx-xxx model series.
Starting with November 15, 2005 production Hoover has changed the hose and nozzle on all SteamVac Dual V carpet shampooers. The new hoses have two latches on the sides of the fixture that attaches to the hose port on the nozzle. The new style nozzles have two small rectangular openings for these latches on either side of the hose port. No other changes have been made to either the hose or nozzles. The old style hose had a twist lock arrangement and no latches.
The key point is this: The new hose will not attach to the old style nozzle and the old hose will not attach to the new style nozzle. When replacing either the nozzle or the hose you must be sure you are matching the correct hose with the correct nozzle. The following is how you must match the parts for these machines.
Dual V Widepath Models - Six Brush (F7425-900, F7431-900, F7440-900)
- New Nozzle 91001062 matches New Hose 91001063
- Old Nozzle 43411008 matches Old Hose 43491045
Dual V Models - Five Brush (F7205-900, F7220-900, F7225-900, F7226-900)
- New Nozzle 91001061 matches New Hose 91001063
- Old Nozzle 43411009 matches Old Hose 43491045
To determine what parts you need you can just inspect the old parts based on the above description or you can determine the approximate production date by checking the Hoover serial number. The first four digits are the month and year the machine was built. For example: 1005xxxxxxxxx would be a production date of October 2005. The exact day it was produced can not be determined so if your machine was build in November 2005 (1105) you will still need to inspect the old parts as this was a mid month design change.
ALSO - It appears that Hoover is going to discontinue the old style nozzles. This may have already happened for the F74xx Widepath models. When the current stock of old style nozzles are gone, you will need to purchase a hose/nozzle kit containing both parts. These kits are expected to cost in excess of $60. So if you need an old style nozzle, buy it quick.
All of the above nozzles and hoses, both new style and old, are available in my eBay store: Budget Saver Floor Care . All parts are Genuine Hoover, are fully guaranteed and shipped Priority Mail.
