Beware when spending your hard earned money,  on a Hookah dive system,  or anything else,  for that matter,  if the ad doesn`t sound quite right.

Adjustable vs. non-adjustable regulators...  Yes you CAN use an adjustable regulator for Hookah diving,  IF it is properly balance to the realistic output from the hookah dive compressor.  Don`t beleive the bull that is being spread that you MUST,  or even SHOULD use an adjustable regulator.  Simply NOT TRUE.   An adjustable regulator does NOT adjust the line pressure,  as some sellers are claiming,  it adjusts the resistance to breathing..That line pressure is adjusted at the first stage regulator.  In some full face masks,,,aga style,  and commercial masks,  you can adjust the line flow,  but unless it is a $1000.00 option,  that is not what you are buying...

Non adjustable regulators are likely to last much longer,  less stuff to go wrong,  but if you are the type that just loves to fiddle with something,  adjustables are OK,  just don`t go into buying,  thinking it adjusts the air pressure,  or is needed.

The lower pressure the compressor can be operated at,   the longer it will last... Simple!!

Small dive compressors are able to reach 125 psi,  but once you start breathing,  the pressure drops.  If your regulator is balance to work at low pressure,,hookah pressure...65-85 psi.   it will breathe just like a scuba,  it the compressor is set to operate in that range.  Compressors operated in the 85 lb range lst 100`s of times longer than one operated at a constant 125 lbs.    Your car may go 100 mph,  but will not last long driving it at that spped for long,  but at 70  mph,  it my last a couple hundred thousand miles!!!    It IS cheep...EASY...and dangerous to use a Cressi,  or any regulator at 125psi,  which is what they are set up for for scuba use.   The problem is that as you dive,  and exhaustion set in,  you use more air,  and the compressor will not hold 125 psi,, so you CAN`T get air.   The lower the pressure at the compressor,  the higher the air volume.    Scuba max low pressure hookah regulators are the expensive way to go,, or with a Brownie second stage(low pressure),  they are expensive,  but this is the only SAFE way to dive.

ALL LIGITAMATE HOOKA MANUFACTURES USE LOW PRESSURE REGULATORS.

Check out your sellers reputation!!!!!   That is what feedback is for.   Check what buyers are saying,  then click one the auction # to see if they are buying hookahs,  or $.99 batteries.

Check your manufacture for a web site.   Any and all ligitimate companies have real web sites these days.

Check to see if your seller charges sales tax in their home state.  If not,  they are a fly by night outfit,  and before you can get a warranty from then,  they will be hiding under a new ID.

Any manufacture who clains they produce a specific grade of diving air is flat not telling the truth!!!

The air you breathe hookah diving is in direct relation to the quality of the air on the surface.   Actual manufactures only test to see what their systems ADD  to a known quality air supply.

This is usually done when a dive shop is doing quarterly testing of their compressor.  Samples are sent out and analyzed.    This eis expensive, and time consuming,  but the only way to tell if you are getting what you pay for...quality,  and peace of mind.

Do a search for the brand name of the manufacture.   If they have been around for a long time,  their is a history of sales listed.  If not,,  they can clain to have been around since dirt was new,  but actually only started copying someone elses equipment  a month or two ago,  w/o knowing what they are doing.

Don`t consider any system  with out at least a 10 micron(or smaller) filter.  This will at least filter out pollen,  and dust particles.   Smaller #`s are better.

Check the scuba yellow pages for a listing of actual.  real hooka manufactures.  They have been checked out as ligitimate businesses.   If not listed,  beware!!!!!!!!!

Here is the basic list of real manufactures....Brownie..Poseidon..Air line...Scuba Two...Hookamax...Keene...

Do you own research,  and see what has been selling on e-bay,  and for how much.   Cheep..is usually just cheep.    Quality pays for itself,  cheep junk get tossed.

Save up and buy a good system,  and DIVE  SAFE....

Best regards,

Hookaseller
