I've seen some of these similar stories...mine's a bit different, so I thought I'd share it.
Found what seemed to be a legit auction selling a totally modified Honda Rincon from Alaska because of a move. I asked the seller a question about shipping. By the time he got back to me, the listing had disappeared, but he said he'd ship it to me from NY, he was in Austria and for just $2900. Yah, too good to be true, right!? ~RIGHT~ He detailed how the money would be handled thru ebay and not released to him until I received the bike and tested it.
He even emailed me a very official-looking terms & conditions 'from ebay' of the transaction with a heading of International Trading case # xxxxxxx. When I clicked the [Agree to terms] button, it opened up my Outlook email. This solidified in my mind that it was a scam. I've never seen any ebay function that reverts to your email...it's always handled within the ebay system.
