Be on the lookout for scam artists selling Honda Super Quiet Generators eu2000i eu1000i series. I found one eu2000i this afternoon (item # 160124158035) that was listed as a 1 day auction and at a very hot price, at the time with 11 hrs left it was $178 US and had 24 bids. New items like this sell for about 5 times this price and used about 3-4 times. In the listing it said to contact the seller at alfrysell@gmail.com prior to bidding because his ebay email address was being updated and he would not receive email. No shipping cost was listed and item location said it was in Hawaii. I contacted the 'seller' and he said if I bid $500 he would ship for free overnight air via UPS from Europe. Item was new in sealed box. I was suspicios because of three things, 1 he said it was in Europe, 2 he said it was new in sealed box, and 3 email email address being updated, isn't that a real time update? The item listing said it was removed from the box for photos, but never used. So I emailed back and asked how much shipping would be if I didn't pay $500 and he said shipping is free. So I wrote to clarify if the auction ended at $250 would shipping still be free and what country/postal code it would be shipped from. No response. I figured I made him mad for asking too many questions, or he figured someone was on to him. A real seller would want to answer questions because a satisfied potential bidder would most likly bid on the item and drive the price up. Now the item can not be found on ebay anywhere. I only assume he pulled it or someone caught on it may have been a fraud and ebay pulled it. What was odd about the id was that the account was created in 1997 and had very low activity. Glad I didn't bid and thank goodness I found another guide written out there about Honda Generators. Word of caution, carefully check the sellers feedback and don't buy anything that you have to send email before bidding, thats how the scammers can get their claws in to you. Stay away from email address alfrysell@gmail.com!!!
