GEOGRAPHY
Maps of National Historic and Military Parks, Memorials, and Battlefields
This is an excellent site. Be patient while maps load. It's worth the wait.
Hotlist: Geography
Lots of geography specific links. A great list.
Odyssey in Egypt
This is the coolest interactive educational site I have seen yet! Middle school students dig Ancient Egypt via the Internet in a 10 week course.
E-Conflict, World Encyclopedia and Simulation
Profiles of every nation and province of the world. You can look at maps and flags or listen to national anthems. There is also a monthly quiz . You're sure to learn something new here!
Geography - The Mining Company
This is not a kids' site but it is absolutely full of geography. The first stop for all your geography needs!
GlobaLearn!
Live expeditions all over the world. Students interact with GlobaLearn's remote expedition teams via their WWW site. Fun to be a part of something live.

The Smithsonian Institution Home Page
No study of history can be complete without including a trip to the Smithsonian.
American Memory from the Library of Congress
This site consists of primary source and archival materials relating to American culture and history. It includes prints and photos, documents, motion pictures, and sound recordings. There is a search guide, activities, and an educator's page. Nice! Be sure and check out the Civil War Timeline!
Dead Sea Scrolls

Henry Ford Museum and Greenfield Village Online
Information on visiting the museum but also online histories, too, such as on the Wright brothers, Thomas Edison, and of course, Henry Ford. and don't forget to take a visit to the General Store, where you can pretend to be one (or all) of seven real people who lived in Waterford in 1886, and discover what items they might have purchased

Sea World Busch Gardens
Lots of animal information, including pictures. There is also a good section with teachers' guides.
Grandad's Animal Book Contents
This interactive book has a poem and a picture for each of the letters of the English alphabet. There is a multiple choice quiz, a word list, and a self-test on the material. There are 2 sections: for K-3 and 4-6. Nice!
National Wildlife Federation -- Education, Teacher Resource
Subjects are divided into five major topic areas: Air, Habitat, People and the Environment, Wildlife and Endangered Species, and Water. Each section includes an introduction, general background information, fun facts, things you can do to help, a glossary of terms and classroom activities
Electronic Zoo
An index of animal sites and information. Not all kid stuff. Lots of great resource information for the novice to the expert, but written for adults, not kids
The Birmingham Zoo
This is a most excellent site, complete with pictures, movies, animal information, a safari, a search, and ask the zoo keeper. If you like animals, visit here! Lots of animal links, too.

Nutrition K-6
This is an excellent and complete set of lessons plans for teaching nutrition to grade schoolers. It contains most of the resources needed, including worksheets. Well worth a visit if you need nutrition lessons.
