Hi!

Soap is very important for our health, it help

with our well being, by destroying germs and

some bacteria.

We use soap not only to smell good but

to clean oneself from element that could provoke infections on our body.

I am from another age group, the age group that used to make everything by hand with very natural ingredients. As a little girl we used to make soap for a 6 months period at one time.

In, the summer kitchen, Ash from hard wood was kept in a wooden barrel. When the time came, in the fall, we pick the blackess pieces of burned wood, put them in a round barrel or big container and beat it with a wooden stick to make a powder other ingredients where added, like Lard to make a kind of a cake, it was highly poison and called caustic, then it was boiled in the summer kitchen, after all of the duties of the summer kitchen was finish, it was used to help get rid of some insect and little animals...

The same soap was used to wash hands and clothing.
