Thanks to Ebay, we have known so many nice people around the world. It is a big joy to communicate with lovely clients who have their own boutique jewelry business or home jewelry party business. As we mentioned previously in last Guide, we would like to share some useful information with the people who enjoy a colorful life and love beautiful jewelry like we do:)

The first thing you need to do when you decide to run a jewelry business is find a jewelry supplier that you can trust. You will have to do a little bit of research in order to eliminate the less desirable companies and end up with a list of jewelers that you feel confident doing business with. Once you find a good jewelry supplier, stay with him or her. Trust us, he would become your best friend overseas. He will help expedite materials, experiment designs and take sample pictures for you, or produce a particular design that you may like. Good communication is the key to working with your suppliers. Establish a rapport, earn their respect and your jewelry supplier will become your best friend.

Here under is something we would like to share with you:

Home Jewelry Party Tip 2:  How to Choose A Good Jewelry Supplier?

1) Quick and Smooth Email Communication

If you contact a new supplier by email, check to see how quickly they reply. It should take no longer than 2 business days – within 24 hours is the ideal. Look for professionalism and a helpful attitude in their emails. As most jewelry suppliers are located other than your motherland, language is very important. You’d better make sure that they would understand you well in the further communication.

2) A Pleasant Trial Shopping Experience

You may try buying some small items as an individual client at their website or Ebay store. This is one of the best ways to know your potential jewelry business partners. Actually, 80% of our clients find us in this way. This shopping experience would definitely give you a very clear idea of what kind people the seller is, what business attitude they have, what the craftsmanship is, etc... Before you make a trial jewelry purchase from a website or an ebay store, consider contacting their customer service department first by questions. When talking to a customer service representative, ask questions and pay close attention to the responses you receive. If the rep seems irritated with your questions or keeps rushing you into buying a product, consider that a "red flag".

3)  Excellent Customer Service

One of the best ways to judge a wholesale jewelry supplier is by their commitment to customer satisfaction. The supplier should be able to provide you with testimonials, and attest to the importance of customer satisfaction to their business. In this sense, Ebay is the best place to go. They have the most transparent feedback system. Simply review all the feedbacks left by the customers, you will for sure get a closer picture of this jewelry supplier. Their way of reply to some negative or neutral feedbacks can help you even better know about their business philosophy.

4)  TRENDY and Unique Designs

Never go with a jewelry supplier who sells the SAME items as anyone else! Unless you're steeped in the world of fashion, you won't be exposed to the nuances of seasonal jewelry trends. A good wholesale jewelry supplier will do your homework for you, and offer pieces that reflect the latest trends in jewelry design. You don't want to be stuck with chunky necklaces when fine filigree is in fashion, but you want to make sure you have enough hoop earrings when they hit the fashion runways. As a professional jewelry supplier, he is supposed to be a trendspotter who can tell what the latest trend is by processing orders from NYC, Chicago, Paris, and Tokyo.

5)   A Professional and Friendly Website

Website is the quickest way to make the clients updated about the jewely supplier's product and promotion. For a professional and experienced jewelry supplier who is doing many businesses with overseas clients, an informative and user-friendly website is more than important. Ask the seller about their own website to make sure it is always updated and in operation.

6)   Monthly Product Updates by Email or Brochures

A really helpful and supportive jewelry supplier will always think for you. Besides all the work which can be seen by most others, they would definitely do something exclusive for you. For example, we would update our existing wholesalers by sending them a very well designed Monthly Design Brochure in PDF. We selected the best sellers and the most trendy designs and recommend to the clients monthly. Many of them really love to receive this email and think it really helps them when decide which piece to have as inventory.

7)   Reasonable Minimum Purchase Requirement or Even No Minimum

When you're shopping for wholesale jewelry, find a jewelry supplier that has a reasonable minimum purchase or even no minimum purchase requirement. We used to set a minimum order of $500, but we later canceled it as we pretty understand that for many new starters, they may not be able to - or want to - commit to investing a significant sum of money in buying inventory in the beginning. So, we encourage our clients to buy only what they want and it works so well. Most of them come back for more later as their previous purchases were selling so fast.

8)   Regular and Adequate Product Renewal

It's important that the jewelry supplier you select has the merchandise in stock, rather than forcing you to wait until they receive their jewelry import. Look for a company that ships within 3 business day.

9)   Repair Service

One of our featured services is FREE REPAIR service and some clients think it very attractive. So our distributors can always commit to their customers that no matter when they want their products to be re-stringed or repaired, we are always here to help.

10) Reasonable Pricing

One of the most important things that you will want to take into consideration when choosing a jewelry supplier is what the prices are. Don't forget to take the quality and shipping cost into consideration. A good jewelry supplier will be always offering a competitive prices compared to others.

11) Wide Product Selection

Another thing you need to think about is how big of a selection the particular jewelry supplier has to offer you. For example, pure pearl products may make your clients tired after many shows. But if there are always some different gemstones as add-ups, they would definitely find your shows refreshing and attractive. You might buy everything from one jewelry supplier than varying your orders between companies and paying extra money on shipping and handling.
