Get Fitted!

Before you buy your new goalie equipment, be sure to know what your getting into. Look for equipment that will not only fit well and provide maximum comfort, but protect you for hundreds of hours of play. As a goalie, you'll see more ice time than most other players, and staying cool and comfortable can be an important factor to keep you performing at peak level.

Chest Protectors

Goalie chest protectors are measured based on the height of the goalie in feet/inches. Sizes are based on an "average build" goalie. However, all models/brands are adjustable at chest and arms for a perfect fit. Check out our chart below to find your size based on height.

Leg Pads 

Goalie leg pads come in two different types. Leather pads are designed for ice hockey and indoor use. The leather could seperate if used on pavement for roller hockey, but offer great protection against high speed hockey pucks. Nylon pads are lighter weight, and designed for outdoor use on roller hockey rinks. These nylon pads cannot withstand the impact of a high speed puck but will adequately protect against roller hockey balls and pucks.

Find Your Size:
1. With leg slightly bent, measure the distance between the inside of your ankle and the center of your knee cap. Let's call this distance "A".
2. Measure the distance between the center of your knee cap and your mid-thigh or a little higher. Call this distance "B".
3. Add "A" to "B", then add 5 inches for a senior and four inches for a junior.

Following these instructions should yeild a size for most seniors in the 30" - 36" range, and for juniors a range around 23" to 29".

Goalie Pants

Goalie pants, like regular pants, are fitted by waist size. If you don't know your waist size, find a U.S. tape measure and cirle your waist at the hips. Not all products are available in every size, please consult the product description for available sizes for that product.
