Abstract: This guide is being published to show how easy it is to replace your original Hitachi Lamp UX21511 / LC37, UX21513 / LM500, UX21517 / LC57, UX21518 / LP520
Necessities:
1. Standard Philips Screwdriver
2. Pair of Pliers
3. A new Philips Lamp
4. 15 minutes of your time
Here is the Hitachi Lamp Enclosure (enclosures UX21511 / LC37, UX21513 / LM500, UX21517 / LC57, UX21518 / LP520), remember you can click on any image to enlarge!
Start by removing the metal case by unscrewing it from the plastic housing.
Gently tug on it and pull it apart.
The lamp should now be exposed.
Use your Philips driver to remove the screws holding the lamp in place. That metal octagonal ring should come off once you've completed this.
Using your needle nose pliers, you can now remove the wire from the back of the lamp. Also remove the wire from the side terminal using a Philips screwdriver.
Grab your replacement part--making sure it's a Philips brand.
Put the metal gaurd back on the lamp to keep it in place. Screw it in place.
Start by hand tighting the screws. Make sure it's snug, but don't give it too much torque! Use your needle nose to make sure it's snug. Do the same for the side of the lamp--CAUTION excessive torque can break that piece off.
Place metal the cover back on. The metal cover should fit in nice and snug. Screw the cover back onto the plastic.
You're done!
