Here is a cost analysis:
Envelope/Packaging/Tape = $1.00
Printing costs 25 cents
Paypal/eBay fees deducted from auction $2.80 (listing fees + final value fee)
(15 cents of that is deducted just for shipping costs by Paypal)
Trip to post office (10 miles round trip) $1.40 gas
Postage $2.49
___________
$7.86
My time is not factored in. Roughly 10 minutes is spent on each package (email, packaging, driving, adding software, standing in line, or arranging for pickup, travel time, support, emailing, etc etc) - all after the sale.
Buyer is obviously not ALL of that cost as I mail out others pacakages each day and some of the Paypal/eBay fee should be considered cost of "producing" the item.
Typically I mail these out via DHL which is $6.34. This is where I reconcile this cost. There, I do not actually PAY this amount, instead, some part with gift cards and trade of printer cartridges. I work near OfficeMax (where my DHL location is) and they print the labels. For tax purposes I estimate each package at $6.34. Fair by the formula above.
PLEASE take the time to rate this guide positively once you are finished THANK YOU!
