Hershey's is even getting in on this--they are selling a 40 point candy assortment. It is 20 candy bars for $19.95 (that's 20 codes). Also included in the 20 pack is a t-shirt.

Do the math, you can only enter 36 codes/labels a day, it will be almost impossible to get a CAR or a TRIP due to all the people who started collecting early. The number of bidders has gone down on the current auctions on ebay for wrapper cash, lowering the previous embarassing high prices!!!

Check out what Hershey is "selling" with wrapper cash. You can get a dozen items (deck of cards, cell phone case, stuffed bear, baseball cap, mug, computer mouse, t-shirt, windbreaker, thermos, pillow, and a golf shirt) for 732 points. You actually do better at the store than at the auctions.

Hershey's current program allows you to submit up to 36 codes a day to equal 72 or 108 points depending on the product label.

The onslaught of labels listed on ebay can be baffling. Read the description carefully are they offering labels or are they offering points? There is a difference.

The prices they are selling for is equally as baffling, straight out gouging! Why are people paying these ridiculous prices?

If you have a Costco, BJ's, Sam's Club or other warehouse provider you can pick the candy bars up for less than what the labels are being sold for on ebay. The PayDay, Kit Kat, and Take 5 labels are difficult to read. It is a fine red print on the silver lining. If you wipe off the label, the code comes off too. The Hershey bars currently sell for 33 cents at Sam's Club in a box of 36 ($11.94)-that would give you 72 points. Look on the box for expiration date-I've found wrapper cash on NOV2007.

You can always melt the chocolate down and/or freeze it, make chocolate covered fruit--pretzels-oreos-vanilla wafers-etc. Someone getting married? Chocolate fountain! Donate the chocolate to a food kitchen. Save the chocolate for when kids go back to school.

Remember if you don't get what you want at the Hershey auction site, use your points for Hershey merchandise for Christmas presents, donate Hershey merchandise to a local shelter, school fundraiser, etc.

Check with your tax advisor to see how much you can take as a deduction on your taxes when making a donation of any kind. Don't donate to the sellers charging outrageous prices for their labels.
