The Antonio Hernandis guitars were first offered for sale in 1969 by Sherry-Brener Ltd through their store, "Antigua Casa de Sherry-Brener, 3145 W. 63rd St., Chicago, Ill." The name Hernandis is a trade name for this quality built instrument. In 1969, all Sherry-Brener instruments offered were hand-made in Madrid. Starting in 1970, some of their guitars were contracted to be built in Japan. Here is a list of models for sale and suggested retail prices:
Jose Ramirez - Segovia model 1 $1500
Jose Ramirez - Segovia model 2 $1295
Jeronimo Pena Fernandez Concert $ 975
Hernandis Concert 1A $ 475
Hernandis Concert 1 $ 375
Hernandis Concert 2 $ 275
Garcia Concert $ 175
The Hernandis guitars were built with an almost identical design and woods as the Ramirez. They were carefully constructed and have concert quality tone and volume. They exhibit outstanding sustain and pitch holding due to their heavy construction. Sherry-Brener has a website with photos and suggested current values on these instruments.
