Hermes produced the keys or Les Clefs, designed by Caty Latham in 1965. This design is one of the exceptions to the general rules, as the genuine scarf has neither the title or artists signature. It has been re-issued regularly and is one of the most common designs that you will see on Ebay. There are also many fake versions of this scarf, including photo accurate versions.
There are several FAKE versions currently available from the Far East which are easily detectable since they are missing keys. The Genuine version has 47 keys, the FAKE only 43 keys.

Rule 1: Genuine scarf MUST have 47 keys. 43 key are ALWAYS FAKES. Unfortunately having 47 keys does not necessarily make the scarf genuine.
Rule 2: Genuine scarf MUST say Hermes Paris on bottom right corner....but there are several different issues....
Genuine early issue with copyright symbol... Genuine later re-issue without "C", but..... with the copyright in the top corner......
And then there is this is a shiny Italian FAKE!....
Rule 3: Check out the Seller...look at my Guide on how to....avoid fake Hermes scarves.
Rule 4: Check out the care label....look at my Guide on..... Care Labels on Hermes Scarves.
It is quite easy to spot these fakes now that you know about the missing keys...........
