Most Hermes silk scarves bear several distinguishing marks including copyright and the artists name or signature. But there are many exceptions. Hugo Grygkar was the most prolific designer for Hermes and never signed his work. His designs are regularly re-issued.
Here are some examples of the most commonly seen versions, of the most common signatures. They may vary from design to design, and with time.......
Julie Abadie (from Kosmima) Annie Faivre (from Terres Precieuses) Christine Henry (from Chemins de Garrigue)
Philippe Ledoux (from Napoleon) Joachim Metz (from l'Ete - La Joie de Vivre) Henri d'Origny (from l'Instruction du Roy)
Zoe Pauwels (from La Danse du Cosmos) Francoise de la Perriere (Equitation Japonaise) Dimitri Rybaltchenko (from Vif Argent)
There are many others....you can find a few more in my second guide on Signatures.
Remember: if the Seller does not know the title of the scarf or the name of the designer then they are not familiar with what they are selling, so should be treated with extreme caution. Unfortunately the converse is not necessarily true: fakers selling counterfeits may well have the correct information in their listings, often copied from other auctions. This also applies to photographs which are very easy to borrow from elsewhere and may not be of the scarf that you receive.
