All Hermes scarves carry the Hermes Paris logo. Very early vintage designs had it simply placed in the centre bottom of the scarf. The vast majority of the newer genuine scarves that you will see on Ebay have the Hermes Paris integrated into the design. You should assume that you are looking at a fake if the Hermes Paris is just simply printed in the corner. See some typical examples of fakes by clicking on this hyperlink to Hermes - Italian Fakes.
The pictures below are ALL GENUINE Hermes scarves....................
There are as many variations as there are Hermes designs, but I hope you get the idea of what I mean by the Hermes Paris being integrated into the design.
You will also see that the second e of Hermes has a backward sloping "grave" accent over it. Again there are some exceptions but most genuine scarves have this accent.
So if you see something like this one.... Just stuck on in the corner, oh and look, NO ACCENT.....
....you can now be pretty sure that you are looking at a FAKE!
There are a very few exceptions to these rules. BUT REMEMBER - PHOTO ACCURATE FAKES MAY LOOK PERFECT LIKE THE EXAMPLES ABOVE.
Do have a close look at the Seller. Have they recently sold several scarves from the list of fakes...or are they Estate Clearance Specialists selling their first scarf? Both Sellers should be treated with caution. Get wise and educate yourself so that you can avoid paying designer prices for cheap fakes.
