Colour is important. Hermes print each design from up to 40 separate hand mixed colour screens. That is why fakes produced on standard "four colour lithoprinting" machines rarely match colours.
But do you know what the details should look like?
This is a FAKE! This one is GENUINE.......
The beauty of Hermes silk scarves is in the detail.
Here is a detail close up and comparison, both from recent listings of Hermes "Grande Roue", a 2006 design by Dimitri Rybaltchenko.

Look at the lettering and the fine detail. If you don't know exactly what a design should look like then find out before bidding, otherwise you could end up with an expensive fake. The fake above was listed with 12 high resolution pictures. These are worthless if you don't know what you are looking at....this is the oldest confidence trick ever!
It was interesting to note that within half an hour of posting this guide there was already the first vote...which was a negative. No prizes for guessing if that was from an interested Buyer... or from a Seller with yet another fake!
