The Hermes silk scarf design En Piste was produced in 1998 and is by the well known wild life artist Robert Dallet.  Fakes of this scarf are not particularly common on Ebay but this one surfaced recently.  The scary part is that there are probably thousands of these fakes hiding away in aging aunt's wardrobes, just waiting to come out to catch us unawares on Ebay.  This is not a photo accurate fake, but good enough to fool the casual observer.

This fake was advertised with 12 full sized photographs showing all the crude details, so I cannot stress enough once more, just how important it is to know what you are looking at when buying on Ebay.  Please click the YES button at the bottom of this guide if you find it useful, as it will help other Ebay  users to see it.

Genuine............................................       FAKE....hard to tell much from the full scarf photo....

So let's look at the detail...

Genuine.................................................          FAKE.....look at the manes on the horses.........

And zooming in on the title....

Genuine...................................................         FAKE.  really crude lettering..............................

Look at the crude drawing of the horse.   Oh!...and it is a good idea to know who designed the scarf.....

Genuine...signed R.Dallet.............................     FAKE....signed by Latham.......poor Caty!!........

Have a look in my guides on  Hermes care labels  if you do not know why this label is a real give away....

Genuine......................................................................         FAKE.....great picture of a FAKE label!!................

The hem on this fake was also very badly done.  Always be suspicious if the hem looks like a chain of sausages.

Do have a look at the Seller.  Are they completely honest house clearance specialists, selling a scarf that says Hermes on it?  Or do they have a history of selling many scarves of the same design, and that appear on the fake list, together with other rather too cheap designer goods?.  Both Sellers should be treated with extreme caution.

Have a look at some of my other guides via this Guide - Index hyperlink, and you might just avoid paying designer prices for a cheap counterfeit scarf.  Please don't forget to click the YES buttons.  You can contact me via the Ebay email system, but do remember to include your email address otherwise I won't be able to reply.  And constructive comment always welcome in my Guest Book.  Good luck out there.
