Hermes produced "Des Fleurs pour le Dire" by Leigh Cooke in 2005.  It is a relatively simple design that has been exceedingly popular with the fakers. However the fakes are not photo-accurate, but rather crude copies.  They are easy to spot if you know what the genuine design should look like.  Please click on the YES button at the bottom if you find this Guide helpful, as it will help more Buyers who are at risk to see it.  Thanks.

Here are a couple of examples of the full GENUINE scarf..............................................

Now let's look at some closer details.

Genuine................title...............    Genuine.........Hermes Paris.........       Genuine...........detail.......................

FAKE.............. no title...........FAKE........no integrated Hermes Paris...FAKE....really crude, two colour detail.....

The crude detail is usually very hard to see in the poor quality pictures provided on the average listing BUT ....

FAKE...simplistic outlines.................. FAKE with Hermes Paris in the corner......

So to summarise:

1: No title = FAKE. If the Seller does not know the name of the scarf, then they certainly do not know what they are handling and more than likely it is FAKE.

2: The Hermes Paris should be on one of the cards, clipped to the flowers...stuck in the corner = FAKE.

3: Crude detail = FAKE.  Watch out for that two colour ivy leaf that looks a little like a green dinosaur footprint....it is only on the FAKE.

Do check out the SELLER: are they innocent and naive estate clearance specialist with no knowledge of what they are selling, or have they sold multiples of the scarves on the fake lists?  Either Seller should be treated with extreme caution.  But without doubt, the person you have to watch out for most is the BUYER who believes that they can really buy a brand new, from the store, in original packaging, 300USD scarf for 75USD.  If the offer is too good to be true, then most likely it is a FAKE!

Do have a look my basic introduction guide on How to avoid fakes. .... or some of my other Guides via this Index Link.
