Hermes - Dans les Branches de l'Ombu? Part 2. : eBay Guides

"Dans les Branches de l'Ombu" by Hubert de Watrigant was issued by Hermes in 2005, and became a best selling fake in 2006.  

GREEN FACES OR PURPLE HORSES ALWAYS MEANS FAKE. 

Have a look at the previous guide  Hermes Dans lles Branches de l'Ombu? Part 1 for examples. The genuine scarf can be bright but always has real life colouring.  Close up pictures of the people are not always shown or very poor quality because of the green face giveaway.  So look at the title.  The title of the scarf is like a brass plate on a leather halter as shown in the examples below:

Pink border, purple leather and lettering = fake.   BUT  .. this grey FAKE has natural colours..

Light blue border, natural leather.....   Slate border, natural leather....      Orange border, grey/brown leather...ALL GENUINE.

Do check what else the Seller has listed or has recently sold.  Be extremely cautious if they have more than one example for sale, or more than one of the scarves discussed in these guides.  If you are not sure then don't bid, there will always be another bargain another day.  Current US store price went up in February to $325US.  Hermes do not have discount warehouses, so nobody will be selling you genuine brand new in box scarves for $100US.

The Golden Rule:   Fakes may have good detail and natural colours.  Purple horses, green faces, blues beards ARE ALWAYS FAKES.
