Hermes issued this "Cheval Surprise" by Dimtri Rybaltchenko in 2004.  This is a very skillfully produced design and what at first sight appears to be just ink spills does in fact contain multiple clever images of horses and riders.  Please click on the YES button below if you have found this Guide useful as it will help more people to see it.

The apparently simple one colour design was an instant hit with the fakers as you can see from these samples from China....

FAKES.... immediately spotted by the straight line border. It should be broken top and bottom... circled in RED..

Here are some genuine scarves............................................................................................................................................

...with some closer looks at the genuine details ..............................................................

The bottom right border is broken with Hermes-Paris......    and the top centre border contains the title.......

Either black or white care labels are seen on the genuine scarf and inside the right bottom corner it is signed Dimitri R.....

So here is the easy rule:  Continuous, unbroken inside border = FAKE! = No Title or Hermes Paris in the border.

Now you know what to look for you will be able to tell the fakes even from very poor quality photographs.

Another factor common with so many fakes is that they are very small in their fake orange boxes.

Do look at all the other factors, including the reputation of the Seller, whether or not they are Hermes Experts...OR... honest but naive Estate Clearance Specialists!

If the Seller has sold multiple items from the fake lists, or combines large quantities of other designer goods then treat with extreme caution.

Have a look at some of my other Guides via this Index Link.  And see Care Labels and  Labels on FAKES  if you are not sure why the care label can be important.

Arming yourself with as much knowledge as you can before venturing your hard earned money is the best way to avoid paying designer prices for a cheap fake.

Your positive feedback is always welcome via the Ebay emailing system, or you can leave your comments in my Guest Book.

OK, now it is time to hit the YES button!  Thanks.
