Hawaii Overprints and North Africa notes from WW II are very hot right now and probably always will be.  They can be collected for relatively little money if you get poorer examples.  Star notes in this field go for a hefty premium.  If you can get one cheaply I suggest you do so.
They are fun to collect and they really are historical.
