When I first started buying on ebay I found very quickly that most listings by some Sellers had the words vintage, Old?, Age unknown, Looks well used. I soon found out with the help of an appreaiser that 99% of those listings were all new. And that a lot of people me included were being taken. They weren't getting Old or vintage. so do be careful go the the Lehners book of Marks and look up the marks, make a call to the pottery you will find they all have a Musuem of their own and if you email the picture and some of the description they can real quick tell you if its an old Fenton or new or if it's even Fenton. I've made many calls saved me a lot of headaches. but I made my mistakes early on
If your looking for gifts go to a site that honestly says its new its microwave, dishwasher, oven safe etc. You will be able to trust someone who is will ing to back up what they say. I guess its Buyer beware.
Take this from someone who found out a lot of this the hard way. also check the feedback to be sure they wrap carefully , If not, it will be there, altho ebay recommends you not leave sayings like that, I do. Why say its wonderful if its not and the next buyer can only go by what they read. Be honest. If you've had a bad experience say so.That buyer will be appreciative. Be knowledgeable and persistent. Good Luck
