Breaking Through the Weight Loss Plateau

Losing weight can be challenging enough. So once you have thrown out the ice cream, gone to the gym three times a week and have started using your treadmill for its intended use (no, not a giant laundry hanging device) why is the weight still hanging on? Sometimes, when your caloric intake  stays at a constant level and your workouts remain the same, your body gets comfortable within those limits. The most efficient way to "light some fire" under your metabolism is to alter your calorie burning method. Try something new while continuing with your favorite workout!

Even if the word "exercise" isn't in your vocabulary, you can find several alternatives to help you burn calories. The alternatives to your regular routine doesn't require a special membership, clothes, $100 shoes or expensive equipment. DVD or VHS videos are a simple, low cost solution to help you get back to reaching your weight loss goals, or simply to maintain what you've worked so hard for. Plus, you can try something new in the privacy of your own home without public intimidation. Here are a few ideas to get you started:

Belly Dancing:  An exhilarating cardiovascular bellydance workout will help to increase flexibility, while toning and contouring your body. It also engages your mind, body and spirit and helps you to build self-confidence.

Hip-Hop Cardio Dancing:  These videos can range from beginner to intermediate. Talk about getting you moving! The moves are broken down into easy to learn steps, yet still keep you challenged. Hip-hop helps to burn body fat, develop core strength and increase your flexibility.

Pilates:  Pilates will help you help your range of motion and improves flexibilty and agility. You'll develop proper body alignment and increase your core, lower and upper strength. You can also combine Pilates with light hand weights for even faster results!

Salsa Dancing:  Ahhhh, nothing like a hot Latin beat to spice up your workout! Dancing of almost any kind will help you to burn caloires, however Salsa is an excellent form of dance that doesn't require a partner!

Freestyle JumpRoping: Now this is some serious calorie burning! This is a fat blasting, cardio-conditioning workout that is spreading like wildfire in the gyms. These are fun and easy moves that tone your lower and upper body while burning fat.

Cardio Flex Band Workout:  Flex bands can help you to work out at different resistance levels to improve both flexibility and muscle tone. Flex bands are also easily incorporated into a Pilates and Aerobic workouts.

In-Home WalkAerobics:  If you love to walk but can't get out, there is a solution! In-Home WalkAerobics is fun, easy to follow, low impact, great form of cardio, convenient and burns fat. Now you can get your walk in regardless of the time of day or weather!

I hope this helps you to break through that plateau or experience a new avenue for losing weight. Getting started now will have you looking good and feeling fabulous for the 2006 holidays!

PLEASE NOTE:

The diet pills listed to the right of this guide were placed there by eBay and are not listings of Oper8ionsmanager. I do not believe in diet pills or weight loss gimmicks and I'm actually quite offended that they're even being shown next to my guide. Unfortunately, eBay wins here and I can't control what they place next to my guides. Please don't "buy in" to claims of weight loss from a pill. If it were that successful no one would be overweight. There isn't a "secret" or "magical pill" out there that works. Period. The only way to lose weight, is as it always has been. You must burn more calories than you consume.

Not all programs are suitable for everyone. To reduce the risk of injury, consult your Doctor before beginning any exercise/cardio program.

Thank you for your time and good luck on your quest to better health & fitness!
