To get started you plug the remote into the USB port on your computer and tell the software what components you have and what settings you use to watch a move, listen to CDs or the ipod, watch TV, listen to the radio, etc.  Then you are ready to go....well it's almost that simple.  After inital programming, I tested it out and decided I wanted access to a few extra features that weren't showing up on the remote, but that was easy too.  There are 8 buttons beside the LCD screen that you can program to control optional features for each component - so customize it to your hearts content.

The beauty of it is, when you are done, this remote quickly correcty powers on/off the correct components and switches your inputs all components flawlessly. The color LCD shows simple commands like "Watch TV", Watch a DVD", "Listen to CD" - press one button and enjoy.  The ability to charge the remote in its dock overnight is priceless - where's the remote? Oh yeah, in the docking cradle.
