Harley-Davidson has a few different styles of authentic 105th anniversary pins
The first 105th pin released was part of the 105th anniversary "Riders Pack" (which included pin, hat and bandana). This pin has a black background and a fairly flat face. The metal has a shiny chrome-like finish. The back has a 2007 production date on it. It is 1 inch wide by 1 1/8 inches tall.
The second 105th pin released was sold by itself. This pin is the same size, but has no background color. It is all metal. The metal has a much more matt finish than the previous pin. Also, the face is much more raised than the previous style pin. It has a 2008 production date on the back of it.
The confusing part is that the Harley website showed a picture of the the first pin when referring to the second.
Hopefully, this clears up any confusion.
I have both types of 105th pins available in my eBay store.
They also offered a larger sterling silver version. I'll be adding more pictures as soon as I can.
They also offered a similar pin at the 105th anniversary event in Milwaukee. Photo courtesy of hdpinman.
