This is a little guide for those who own a Rigid Harley-Davidson or any motorcycle which have a Single Springed Rider's Seat.
I had owned a Stock Standard 1956 Harley-Davidson 'Panhead' and as talking to others found that the seat unfortunately bottoms out easily, which if not customized is a single springed seat using the motorcycles downframe 'seat post' for where you can adjust what I think I remember 3 separate springs hidden in the downframe...
You can easily take out the 'R pin' by removing the wire spring and lift the seat up to where you can take out the greay seat post and adjust where required on all 3 springs, which takes quite a bit of practice to get to any individual to work right, especially if you are a heavy person, to which I'd call myself slightly heavy... around 105kgs or 16 Stone in the old weight...
Anyway, A Handy Hint to relieve the body and save your ass and kidneys from the motorcycle bottoming out all of the time is to go to a 'Truck Wreckers' or look on the web for compression springs and unclip and lift your seat, and where the bottom of the seat and the part where it fits down to the bottom of the frame, where there is no spring, a gap of about 5" inches, get a compression spring which fits around your seat post neatly which then adds heaps more up and down movement.
This should just about relieve any bumps in the road your bike may find...
