Hannah Montana - Billy Ray and Miley Cyrus!

Hannah Montana is an original series that began on the Disney Channel in March of 2006. It tells the story of Miley Stewart, played by Miley Cyrus, a young girl from Tenessee who moves to Maibu. The twist of the show lies in the fact that although she is a normal girl during the day, at night she is known as Hannah Montana--a world famous pop star. Managed by her dad Robby, played by Miley's real-life dad Billy Ray Cyrus, the show follows her crazy adventures balancing school life, friends, and the hectic schedule of being a celebrity.

From the moment the show hit the air, it was an immediate success. Its fans, who seem to be mostly young girls, can't seem to get enough of it and it has spawned everything from t-shirts, posters, pictures and of course: music. In fact, music is an important aspect of the show, as Hannah Montana performs a song in each episode. Considering the young actress's father is famed singer Billy Ray Cyrus, it's no surprise that she actually sings each of them herself.

In addition to her dad, Hannah is surrounded by a number of quirky friends. Her best friend Lilly, played by Emily Osment, is a big fan of Hannah Montana's music and is one of the few people who know her secret identity. Her other best friend is Oliver, played by Mitchel Musso, who also knows her secret and is secretly in love with her. The final main character is Jackson, played by Jason Earles, who is Hannah Montana's older brother.

The primary adult character on the show is played by country singer Billy Ray Cyrus. He plays a single parent who has to balance raising his kids, being their friend, and managing his daughter's career. The combination leads to many fun situations in which he helps his daughter Miley balance the importance of her school life with the glamour and excitement of her professional life.
