Hello to all you gi-tards!, I thought I would give a review on a guitar that has changed my life. I have 5 S-1's that are my pride and joy, however the elite is hands down the best. I have used this guitar with my band for three years now and plays perfect every time. For those of you considering a LP/SG this should be on your list to check out before you buy anything. The build quality on mine an all others I've seen and played is amazingly consistent-almost flawless. These guitars are set up in the United States by Schecter at their shop in Calif. Mine came ready to rock right out of the box with no additional set up. These come with some of the best tuning machines in the buis.-Grover. The best fixed bridge made-TonePros, and excellent mid-grade pots and 3 way switch, that would easily last the non gigging closet-player a lifetime. If you are serious semi-pro who gigs alot, you will problemly wear these out in 3to 4 years. it took me an estimated 4,914 hrs. to kill mine. The elite comes with a coil-tap, this is very useful for those who noodle in all the genres. If you are a high gain-hum-bucking high wattage abuser such as my self, the tap thing will be useless, as it cuts the output of the pickups in half. Speaking of the pickups, don't let the Duncan Designed thing get to you, these are almost identically sounding to the JB/59 combination offered in the 30th anniversary S-1, the only difference is the DD bridge pickup does not break up as easily on the clean channel as the JB does. These pickups combined with a string threw arch top provides endless sustain when in front of a real amp with real wattage. Cosmetically the black cherry stained quit top is a show stopper. The 'Gothic cross' inlays on the fretboard is eye catchy and original unlike most other tired same old, ho hum inlays. Flawlessly bound in abalone all the way around, and a set neck. If this guitar was stolen I would get back on E-Bay and buy another one. If your into rock, metal, thrash or anything similar, do you and your band mates a favor and bring one of these to you next rehearsal.
