Good Luck Amulet
Hamsa, meaning five in Arabic, is a hand shaped amulet.
It is a most ancient amulet and a symbol of many religions.
According to Jewish tradition, the hand shaped Hamsah symbols the hand of Miriam, sister of Moses and Aaron.
In the Islamic belief it symbols the hand of Fatima, daughter of Muhammad.
The Hamsa is also generally referred to as symbolizing the Hand of God. In all faiths it is a protective sign.
Hamsa amulets are worn as pendants or used as key chains, meant to protect the wearer against the Evil Eye and other negative thoughts.
The amulets are also made as wall plaques or plaques to be hung on doors.

Most Hamsah amulets are shaped as symmetric hands, with the pinky finger and the thumb are parallel. Many of the amulets include additional symbols meant to protect against the evil eye such as fish, eyes, and Star of David . In addition, many of the Hamsah amulets are of light blue color, which is also considered to be protecting.
