Hallmark collectible ornaments were introduced in 1973 and changed the world of collectibles forever. Early editions featured works by Norman Rockwell, Betsey Clark and Currier & Ives. Each year not only traditional ornaments, but ornaments with current themes such as favorite movies, cartoon characters and popular sports are released. At least one new series is started each year and most series last at least three years. The "Dream Book" released each Spring previews all of the year's upcoming ornaments and gives collectors a chance to plan their purchases well in advance. Another favorite is Magic Ornaments with special effects, such as light, motion or music which were introduced in 1984. Miniature ornaments are second in number only to the Keepsake Ornaments and measure from 1/2" to 1 3/4" in size. There are many other ornaments released such as Collector's Club, Premiere Exclusives, Open House, Showcase, Frostlight Faeries Collection, Laser Gallery, Crown Reflections, Li'l Blown Glass, Special Event, Kiddie Car Classics and Spring Ornaments. In addition Hallmark offers a wide variety of collectibles including stocking hangers, salt and pepper shakers, figurines, ornament hangers, etc. Truly there is a Hallmark collectible ornament for everyone and they make special gifts that say you care year after year! I have been a collector since 1978 and now own over 600 ornaments and I love each and every one of them. Each year when I put up my tree it takes me days just to open each box and enjoy the beauty of each ornament and remember the special joy I received when a special someone gave it to me. Let Hallmark become a special part of your Christmas joy too!!
