We all will lose hair.

If you are a woman, it may happen because you were not kind to your hair and scalp, or because around menopause estrogen levels go down and the receptors for estrogen in the scalp are empty and do not signal to the hair to grow..

We all  will lose hair because as we age, blood supply by capillaries to scalp decreases. This will result in hair thinning, loss of hair color and eventually, loss of the hair.

You will start losing hair in a "male pattern baldness" as you reach puberty, because there are receptors for male hormones in your scalp. Depending on your genetic background, hair on the top of your head will respond to the male hormone (locking onto its receptor) with thinning and loss.

You will lose hair if you receive chemotherapy treatment. The cells in charge of making hair will die and the hair will fall. It will take time to regain the hair lost.

There are solutions for all of these problems. None of these solutions is a perfect "fix" but addressing all of the factors contributing to hair loss simultaneously increases enormously the chances of success.
