I would like to let people know that a lot of mp3 players are on the auction block right now that are frauds. Certain sellers, especially some out of China, have been selling hacked mp3 players. They sell them as 4 GB, but in all actuality, they are actually 1.8 GB, sometimes not even one full GB. I have even been told horror stories of people buying 8 GB players, and receiving only 512 MB, which is atrocious.
Now I like a good deal as much as the next person, and I wanted an mp3 player to use when I exercise. So after a lot of begging, I finally talked my husband into letting me bid on a 4 GB player, which would hold all the songs I had clogging up my hard drive, plus whatever else I chose to add to it. I did a little research, saw how much standard 4GB mp3 players sell for, checked out a seller, saw that they had decent feedback, and made my bid. After a few tries, I won one, and super excited, I actually jumped up and down in front of my computer.
After waiting almost a month for it to be shipped from Hong Kong, I received my brand new black 4gb mp3/mp4 player video fm usb2.0 + gift, and made the mistake of immediately leaving positive feedback for the seller, and then buying another one, for my husband. NEVER LEAVE FEEDBACK UNTIL YOU ARE SURE THE ITEM IS EXACTLY WHAT YOU BID FOR!!! I started loading my mp3 player with music, and for a few days it was life was blissful. I exercised with it, I cleaned with it, I even took it to work. But every day, I was adding a few more songs. And when it got close to 200 songs, it started acting funny. So I checked the memory, only 46% used, which rang an alarm in m head. Not even 200 songs and it's almost halfway full? That doesn't make any sense. Then my files started corrupting, and songs that had worked before, weren't working. I thought maybe a virus (as did other people who have left feedback on this seller- shaosan08's page ) So my tech savvy sister and brother in law showed me some software I could download, (Download this and run it against your drive to make sure it's legit. www.fz-juelich.de/jsc/sicherheit/download/freeware.1/pc-tools/usb-stick-test)
and it told me that the capacity for my mp3 player was not 4 GB, abut only 1.8 GB. And they told me that people actually hack these mp3 players to appear to hold 4 GB, when they don't.
So, again, I started reading, and found a lot of people complaining how their mp3's came with a virus (it presents itself as a virus, corrupting files then spreading), or it wasn't the right capacity. So I tried to get a replacement, or a refund for both my mp3 players, and the seller (with this store) only offered me a 10 dollar refund for both my mp3 players, and I would have to pay shipping. I don't think so.
So if you see any of these products:
just know that they are hacked, they are not legit, the seller is a fraud and a scam artist, so BUYER BEWARE!!!!!
Thanks for reading my guide, and happy buying!!!
